**DONOTDELETE**

Here is the parts I'm using.
1. 4"X72" PVC Tube
2. 2- 4" holding strapes
3.1 horse sponge
4. 1 - 4" cap
5. 1 - 4" female to screw-in male coupling
6. 1 - 4" threaded cap

Here I have a Horse sponge cut in half to hold bow in place

Here I put 1 half about half way in one end.

Here I have the cap end glued on and is ready to have the bow put in to check.

OK, Now I cut the other half of the sponge to fit in the door end

Bow fits and still room for a bow sock.

**DONOTDELETE**

I now place the other half of sponge in door, the check for fit with cap on.

Great idea!
For SUV users, I bought 2 of the spring loaded car garmet rods, snapped them in just over the windows in the back, and I just put the bow(s) over them and bungee down. Keeps them up off the floor, so treestands dont roll on top of them!

**DONOTDELETE**

can You post a pic of them?

Thanx Guys, Tomorrow morning will be first hunt with it. Since my bow is 72" long tip 2 tip, It can't fit inside with me & I really don't want to carry it with the tip sticking out the window.

You can get them from feed/tack stores. I got mine from a place I worked at. They are nothing but a large sponge, You can use foam the soft stuff.

Sal, Trad minds think alike. Did the same thing in the Spring when I picked up my new Stewart longbow. Inexpensive and protects very well.
Thinking of putting in a 6" tube on other side of Bed for the Recurves!

**DONOTDELETE**

That will work. I think everything came to just under $40.00 I had the glue & sponge. I just need caps & straps to do a arrow holder/carrier now.

Night Wing

The diameter of the tube. Will it fit an unstrung recurve?

lay your bow in a table and see how tall it is. add 1 or 2" for the size you need. I have 1" gap so a thick bow sock or soft case will still fit.

This is funny, I just made a bow tube last week. Your build along is almost exactly the same as mine. Must be great minds work alike, lol... I just was going to use the left over pipe to make the arrow case also. I can put 3 staight limbed long bows in my tube. I also glued a couple of 1/2 " pcs. of pvc pipe about 1" long on the side then ran a 12" piece of rope thru for a handle. The whole thing seems to work very well, Hope yours does also!!     ron w

**DONOTDELETE**

It works great. Plus its up out of the way so I can still put other stuff in the bed. With the straps, I can loosen the screws and take it out & then just replace when needed.

I would like to see pic's of Yours Ron w.

I don't have pic's. But no joke it looks just like yours. We could have used the same plans, if there was any. How many arrows do you plan to carry in your arrow tube?

I don't know yet. I still have to finish making it. I think I can get 2 dozen arrows in it.

Ursus Hunter

Mystic, Post the pics when you are finished with the arrow carrier. I still have that 3 ft piece of leftover pipe sitting in the shed.

**DONOTDELETE**

Rob, It will be done the same way, but smaller. You would get more field points in it then BH's, But still all good.

what does every one do with a strung recurve (with a bow quiver)?  I'm the type that doesn't like string/unstringing alot (can damage limbs, etc)....

until last week I had a toyota 4runner (with 213k miles), and with one back seat folded down I could slide the recurve in on the carpet, then slide my hitch-haul in and lean it over the bow to protect it from everything else....now I have a Subaru baja (small truck)  and don't like the idea of the bow sitting out in the bed.

After rolling a pickup over a few years ago, I don;t like the idea of a quiver full of broadheads over my head in the passenger compartment either....(ask me where my arrows ended up with the truck rolled)?

I might be forced to unstring and build a tube...but like I said....I'd rather leave it strung.
