Mr. Ben

Don't make me come down there:)

Roy, you spotted it. I never noticed before I saw the pic. Touching it now it feels like that part only got one coat of varnish all those years ago. Shame on me. :knothead:

In the tip wedges. Lonnie hows that weight feel? I am pretty sure it is marked wrong. When I sprayed the first base coats the writing run on me. So I had to sand it back down. I had another one going that was 43
. I realized that after the fact. So rather than sand it down again I am telling you now. It is two lbs. over your 45 that you wanted. Looks like your grouping pretty decent with it. Hoping you like it.

Nice score! And nice build!
I gots to get my butt in gear. The rest of you guys, take your time O.K.?

I thought it felt a bit more than 43 but then I chalked it up to being tired from shooting all day yesterday. 47 lbs is perfect.

The bow is really great, it's comfortable, quick, very easy to point and I really like that grip.

Did I mention gorgeous? If I did not, shame on me for it truly is.

Good looking bow Mike. Lonnie, it looks like you are getting a good feel for the bow.
Gonna get my tillering tree built tomorrow or Wednesday. Hoping for glue up this weekend, weather permitting unless I do it in the house.

I got lucky on grip shaping I guess. I just grind till they feel good to me. When I can I get a tracing of the persons hand and compare to mine a go bigger or smaller. Everyone seems to like them. The last person I know of that chronoed one was getting 187 with 9ggp at 28 in.
Thanks for the kind words.

 Excellent work everyone !

Well I got a string on the bow this evening.

Bow is underweight by about eight pounds. Which is even worse than it sounds, because I was aiming for the upper half of my victims range. So technically I missed weight by about fifteen pounds!!!!

Luckily I built it long. So I'm gonna try piking an inch off each end. Hopefully I can hit close to the low end of my victims range.

With all this progress, I just want to say that I think finally I figured out what I'm going to build this year.

:knothead:

Now that the hard part is finally done, I guess I better get on with the rest of it. Crooked -- can you help a brother out with some pink? I want to stick with the theme like everyone else. Whatever you made those wedges out of will be perfect for what I have in mind.
