I'm moving along on the TD osage bow. I think the tiller's close and am shooting, sanding and tweeking.

While sanding I ran ito this,
belly side

back side

It had a thin layer of spring growth on it and I never noticed it untill I was sanding. It never showed on the belly till I scraped down that far while tillering.

I put the super glue to it and did get some to go ito the place on both sides. I sanded it smooth and then gave it another dose.

Do you think she'll hold? I've shot the bow about 50 or 60 times this afternoon and so far so good but I don't know.

Thanks

Brad

I bet it'll be fine.  I have a bunch of bows character like that.  Nice tiller.

Thanks John. That's good to hear.

I believe the reason John is correct in his assessment is that the "layer of spring growth" runs parallel with the limb direction.  If this  was running any other direction, it would actually identify multiple problems.

Nice job so far!

I think your bow looks good and I agree with John with his assessment of the blemish. You do, however need to drop your right elbow though. d;^) You want it to line up with the arrow.

Thanks for the help fellas.

Pat,
I've been fighting that high elbow. I had no idea it was that high untill I started taking these tillering pics last month.

I've been trying to get it down but guess it just feels natural up there to me cause I've been doing it wrong for 45 years. Old habits are hard to break  :(

I'll bet if you got it down inline with the arrow, the anchor would feel better and your shooting will improve. But I know how it goes with Old Dogs.
