Does a tapered lamination have a top and bottom?

Doing my first laminated longbow with a kit from Binghams and in the dry run process lost track of how the tapered laminations were positioned.  Does it matter as long as the thick end is towards the riser?  If it does matter, how does one tell top from bottom?

Thanks!

Thick end to center on all but pronounced TD longbow, they have a forward taper and a reverse taper.

As far as flipping them sideways, no. But you will want the grain to match if it shows , as in clear glass...

And if you lay them sise by side, you can usually tell which side grain matches best.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Thanks Kenny.  Black glass so the grain wont show on this one.
