Here she is at 26"

The top limb (right side) looked a bit stiff at the midpoint, so a few scrapes were taken off.

The weight is just a few pounds on the heavy side of what my recipient wanted, but with the sand/finish work, it should come out close..
Any suggestions for the handle wrap?

Wow Kevin... Hope you got my address for that when you are done. Stumped on what kinda handle wrap but I am partial to leather lol.

A lot of sweet looking bows being turned out this year guys. I miss having to set out this year but its still just as fun to see all the artistry posted.

I don't think I'll be putting a handle wrap on this one.  About to be finished with all the little details.  After getting some confirmation from Sticks from a question I had about my recipient I should be able to ship soon.

Nice, Kevin. I'm a sucker for brush nocks. If I were you, I'd get the right limb bending more in the outer two-thirds. Also, do you have a current unbraced picture? Again, slick looking little bow!

well my maple is gonna have to wait till i get the go ahead to buy a new heat gun. one limb is great but the other has a bit of deflex in it and so need to build a caul and add plenty of reflex to it. so now am on to plan #3. cascara selfbow. should be able to get it on the tree in the next day or so.

Well I have had a great two days working on my trade. Got the bow from flat slats of wood into a bending stick. I still need a little more work on the bend but figured I would post it on here where I am now for some advice where to take off wood. It looks to me that the outer thirds are still a touch stiff.

Anyways here area a few pictures....

Tip

Bow braced at 7 1/4 inches

Bow drawn to around 25 inches and at about 54 pounds

Bow unstrung after working the limbs

This bow has more of a rounded belly which is new for me along with a tear drop style tip design where the tips flow thinner near the nocks on the back. Any comments are welcomed. I am pleased with how this is turning out so far.

(Kevin_h this is nothing of a BBO compared to yours) Go easy lol! You too Ol Wise One!!!

Hey Kenny - I'm glad you finally received it and glad you like it.  I was starting to get a little worried because it went in the mail on 3/11 and had an expected delivery date of 3/16.

The red lookin' wood in the riser is paduak.  It will get darker with age.

Just before I shipped it I was going to put on a black leather handle wrap, but then I saw you post a comment on someone else's bow that that you liked your handles plain, so I left it off.

So where's the obligatory full draw pic?

Me, Kenny, and Cory kind of had our own three-way this year      I made Kenny's bow; Kenny made Cory's bow; and Cory made my bow.

4est trekker,

The right limb seemed a bit stiff, so I took a few scrapes off..
The bow has taken about an of set in both limbs.
I am going to start the sanding process and put a few arrows through her..

Well got to shoot my trade bow for the first time today. I put 75 arrows through her and she shoots great. Very little shock and should be a sweet shooter with it completely finished. Final weight is 52 pounds at 28 inches. I am very pleased with how it is turning out. Finished sanding her down to 400 grit but will take her all the way down to 1500. Got to figure out a finish for the bow. Not quite sure what to do. Here is a horrible picture of the bow I took with my phone so sorry for the poor quality. Will put up a better one at the end.

Thanks guys.... Justin
