At the weekend I built two bows with Roger and Bruno. Actually I didn't build any bow at all, I was just standing around and talking nonsense...

Roger is sawing out the riser of his recurve bow...

Bruno, the master of the fades...

The guys where very motivated and working hard...

Saturday afternoon they could already shoot the first arrows...

Bruno is happy...

We had a blast and even found some free time to go to 3D range and shoot some arrows.

well i i got my pin oak stave cut a little longer than my desired length, got the "dark stuff" under the bark scraped off and sealed with TB2.  if i only knew how to lay the bow out i would begin reducing the size of the stave to rough dimensions lol. how do yall find the center of the stave when it has a bend in it.

bbs383ci

thats some nice looking bows swiss good job.

Roy from Pa

Took the HBO out of the clamps, my first HBO and I like it.

Sure do Kenny, just posted them right up there...    :biglaugh:

DVSHUNTER

Looks like a good time there Swiss!

bbs  Hold the stave up to a light source and move it around until you see the vertical grain of the wood.  It looks like tiny little ridges or lines running the length of the wood.  Trace with a pencil down one of the lines that is closest to the center of your stave.  This is the centerline of your bow.

Roy, That looks nice.  The stain you used really sets off the plywood.  :goldtooth:
