Brock, there is about 1/4 to 3/8 inch on the back with some pretty good size knots. I got some goat hide and a bunch of sinew, I am going to use one or the other on this one. It's a spookie stave for sure but I havn't had the pleasure of blowing one up yet    :)

Coaster - Is Bob going with a pyramid design on that hackberry?  I am about ready to try a hackberry stave and trying to decide on a design.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

I finally found a good draw knife at an antique shop today. Scraped a little on my broad bow with it, and can't wait to use it on some Osage.

I continued to work on the belly of my maple board bow.  It's getting really close to being ready for tillering...now I just need to make tillering tree.

Just finished a handrail made out of aspen logs that were burned in Colorado's Hayman Fire.
Been working off and on since November.

Here's a link to the work in progress:

Roy I like that one... looks like a smooth drawing Shooter, but ya missed my weight   :)

mwosborn, That's what Bob's first will be (case of the blind leading the blind). He hasn't shot a bow for years so we will take it easy on him and build lite!!!

I am such a novice with this bow building stuff that you might PM Chris/Pearldrums. He likes and uses Hackberry    :)

I've only built one Hackberry and got a ton of help from the guys here...  Here's the thread!!

That looks real clean Roy.
For me today was a Army Guard drill day (tomorrow too) so no woodworking for me :-( I think all the drawknifing I do helps me keep up with the young kids when it comes to pushups.
