This started out as Bare Bone Blade.  Then I decided to drill it for some nice Desert Ironwood scales I had laying around.  Then I did a Non Tippit thing...I actually finished out the entire blade to see the Damascus pattern.  I like it as it is but the pin holes look ugly.  Now I have to handle it out tomorrow.  I'll post a finished picture but I know what I'm going to do with my next Damascus blade.  Just drill one hole...a lanyard hole.  tippit

If you are going to cover Damascus, Desert Ironwood should work...

Very nice.  :)  Have you ever used acrylic for a handle?  I typically prefer more traditional styling and natural materials and it seems that you do as well from looking at most of what you post on here, but I saw a damascus blade with clear acrylic scales one time that that allowed for a more comfortable grip while showing off the damascus pattern underneath.  Just a thought.  For the record though, I would take the ironwood over the acrylic any day.

Doug,
My month by myself is over.  Headed back to Boston tomorrow morning...but I did find so nice redfish areas for next Nov-Dec & in the spring.  Not sure how happy I am leaving Aiken. Shop closed down, Panga & ATV in friends barn...dang the place looks like a ghost town  :(   Jeff
