Thank you Lin for the help and advice.  The top knife is a little skinner I made with an antler handle from a small buck I bowkilled.  The bottom one I made for my son for this Christmas and has a 3 pin hickory handle.  They sure don't look like the ones you guys make but I'm sorta proud.

Lin Rhea

It's a fine job. You should be proud. I know your son will cherish his too.

I like that first one.. but both would have been proudly worn by any longhunter, voyageur and frontiersman back in the day... good work.

You've made a great start.  Just keep working at them and they will get better.  We all aspire to higher skill levels.

You guys were right, my son loved his knife!  That was the big thing for me.  It's great to make something for someone you love and have it all work out.  Thanks again for all of your help and Happy New Year!
