Made this knife for bowlovingman. He is giving it to the rancher that lets him bowhunt turkeys on his spread. Barry killed a tom with a 10.5" beard a few weeks ago!!
Now, Barry asked me to make the handle with grey actionwood, ebony and bacote. These are the woods I used to make Barry's bow. I couldn't come up with a big enough scrap of actionwood to cover the tang. I found this piece of macassar ebony and thought it would look real nice instead. Then I decided a bighorn sheep horn spacer with brass accents would look nice. Thank goodness Barry is a man that is flexable!
He wanted me to inlay the rancher's brand into the handle with wood. I could never get things to look good so I considered a brass bolster with the brand engraved in it then I remembered the wire inlay thing. I'm pretty pleased with the results. I did cheat some and use some black epoxy to hold it in place just in case.
I made the mosaic pins also.

Barry ought to love that one! I think it is amazing looking. Great combination of materials. I have some bows that would go perfectly with that knife. The wire inlay came out nicely. I can't think of a better gift for the landowner. He will probably let Barry hunt on the property for life.
