Folks,

Thought it may be helpful to share an update on Lamont's health. He met with the cancer specialist this morning - the type of cancer detected is cholangiocarcinoma. It's based at the liver, and there are a few spots on the lung too. His plan is to begin chemo July 15th. He will start with two weeks of consecutive treatment, then one week off. My understanding is that they will assess progress after a few cycles of chemo. Apparently people with this type of cancer react differently to chemo treatments - some respond great, others need to adjust their type of treatment. The good news is that this cancer is slow growing. I believe that having a plan of "action" was helpful to him today.

With this information, previously many people have responded that they are willing to help in any way - the support and encouragement of each of you will go a long way towards that. In addition, a "Judo shoot" benefit is in the planning stages. Not all details are fully cooked yet, but for those interested - please keep open the date of Saturday, July 31st. This event will be held at the Rochester, MN archery club. More info will be posted on the wall as the date grows closer.

Please keep our friend in your families prayers.... Thanks, Steve

More prayers. I hate cancer as do we all.  :(

May this treatment provide Lamont long term peace and freedom from illness, but the treatment will be a challenge, I'm sure.

Prayers for healing, peace and strength!

Hello folks,

Thought an update would be in order. Lamont has started chemo last Thursday, and will be receiving another treatment tomorrow. Fortunately he has been able to schedule them in the mornings, rest a bit after treatment - then go to the shop and catch up on business later in the day.

The side affects have been limited - good news so far! Matter of fact, if tomorrows treatment is much like last week (and he feels Ok) Lamont plans to go to the Sparta Wisconsin shoot this upcoming weekend.

A number of people and businesses have been in contact with Jason or myself, or have already sent items for the silent auction. The generosity of his friends within the archery community has been extraordinary! There have been many fine donations made. Those who attend this event will have a chance to bid on bows, arrows, broadheads, backpacks, quivers, spine scales, camo, wine baskets, etc... All good stuff!

While the "local bowhunting legend" isn't saying too much, I think he's kind of excited to see how this thing gets pulled off – as many of you already know, he does like to visit, so it should be a good day for everyone.

Lastly, the Judo shoot will be open to anybody shooting a bow. The cost is a free will donation, and you're welcome to shoot until your fingers go numb... The burgers, brats, chips and such are free will donation too, so the event could be a pretty cheap date...;-)

Looking forward to seeing many of you on the 31st... Thanks, Steve

Prayers from Georgia sent.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!
