Loved that guy...he may have been a polished "actor" but there was a genuineness about the man as well.

I too, salute those who served.  How refreshing it is to an old fart who saw how we treated our guys returning from that unholy jungle war and now we are showing the due respect to our service men.

Salute!   :notworthy:
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!

He brought back American pride, after our VETs were mistreated coming home from Vietnam, Iran took our Embassy and people hostage and we had a dismal failure of a rescue attempt to free them.

He restored a Nation's Pride in themselves and ended the Cold War.

Young people should research his speeches and tenure as President. They would realize it is isn't just words that caused the American People to have deep confidence and affection for him as a President. He is still an example for other presidents to follow.

Thank God for today's young warriors, who face the enemy while encumbered by politics and dangerous rules of engagement. Hopefully, sanity will prevail in the future and we will allow warriors to do their jobs without fear of retribution from political correctness and scrutiny from those who have never worn the uniform and wouldn't make a pimple on a soldier's butt.

Gil, thanks for posting.  I didn't get a chance to watch it this morning when I made my first post as my wife and I were heading out to the cemetery for our Memorial Day Catholic Mass services. Something I have done for 60years.

All I can say is that it got to me when President Reagans voice started  to crack a few times. As a former Jarhead  I would like to say that I was one proud SOB as I sat and watched that video and how those young Marines folded that flag getting it ready for presentation.
