I've been in and out of this thread off and on since it started and in all of the excellent shooting form and style advice from Nate and others. 3-under seems to be shunned for those shooting these bows.  I recall Rob referring to 3-under as a "rickety affair", perhaps due to the noise, but that's all that I recall.

I shot split all my life until 2 years ago and started shooting my recurves 3-under with greater accuracy and consistency.  Yes, it is noiser, and I don't like that, but I enjoy the consistency.

It's probably been touched on before but why no 3-under Hill shooters?

There are some 3 under shooters.

Two under here, but split is quieter.

Sshhh....don't tell anyone but Rik shoots three-under as well as using a bowquiver and funny hats.......how on earth does he manage to kill animals?

ErikT

Oh yeah, I shoot a bow quiver too.

I used to shoot my hill 3 under for a spell. I am now back to split. Quieter, and feels more natural to me.

Far Rider, here is the link to Shultz's video.

Lots of good stuff in there, helped me quite a bit. I've watched it numerous times and still picking up pointers.

The photos are older.  I have been concentrating when I shoot for form, on exactly that, pulling further back. I am working to draw the string back, and allow my bow arm to remain bent.  I have really felt it lately, and wow the arrows are down the middle.  I noticed the photos of your form earlier in the thread and how the string touches your eyebrow.  That looks great.  I was in a bad habit of extending my arm, but that has passed.  I am hopeful to get some photos this weekend of shooting to see the ongoing development of my "hillstyle".  I appreciate your comments about what you see in the form, the good/the bad/ and the ugly.

Ok, quick question. New strings? I wanna keep it close to home, as in, one of the "Gang".

I would check with Chad at Champion bowstring.  ChrisM got one and said the quality was outstanding.

He has lots of material.  I shoot B50, I think he build with B55, basically the same.  I switched to a 15 strand and I love the way the bow "feels" on the draw and release.  Amazing what one strand less made.  Probably did not gain much in cast or speed, but everything in bowfeel.

Chad with his B55 are great. Nate Steen also made me a great string, though I don't know if he is making and selling them... especially if he is out hunting!
