Congrats again Charlie not many people can say they have doubled on deer In fifteen minutes. Nice shooting buddy!

I had the pleasure of shooting Stubby and guys Charlie sure builds a mean Hill style bow. Very smooth, quiet and easy on the eyes.

You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"

Greg... 2216's work real well for me in my Hill style bows of that weight. Matter of fact, they work great out of all of my bows of that weight. Recurve and longbow.

Nate... I wasn't aware that any of the Hill party died during that trip. Do you know any more of the story?

Tracy... I had a great evening down on the bottom farm tonight. Saw four and will probably take a doe from there when I get the chance. They seem pretty regular around 6:30- 7:30 p.m
There's a pretty nice buck hiding out in the corn but he's only showing on camera in the middle of the night.

The neighbor was taking his corn tonight so I don't know how long it will be around. I'll be there every night for a while.

Good goin Charlie...   :notworthy:  What kind of tree stand are you using? As an older slightly overweight person..    I've gone strictly to ladder stands and portable blinds. I'll be getting a new Hidden Hunter blind in a few days and I'm hoping I'll be able to shoot my 66" Hill bows out of it. If I can't I guess I'll have to cut a hole in the roof of the blind..    :archer2:

Ron... I was in a ladder stand for this hunt and that's what I use most these days. No side rails to interfere with anything.

I've really grown fond of hunting from pop up blinds as well. The one I prefer is 80" high and I can stand up in that to stretch.

Not that many years ago I was a 2219 guy. Used up a ton of them. Now they are a little stiff for the bows I shoot.

I'm going to make up some tapered Douglas Fir for my longbow before too long...I'm a believer in tapered woods.

Ron Let us know it the 66" Will shoot you of that blind.  It would be nice to know if there was one out there that I could use in new areas that I haven't been able to make a good ground blind.
Gods greatest command:  Love your neighbor as you love yourself.

WESTBROOK

I've shot my 66" Robertson out my Hidden Hunter blind, it was close quarters with a 29.5" draw. You will need to cant the bow some but it can be done without too much trouble.

Eric

Overspined

I have hunted from pop up blinds and its really tough in my opinion.  My bows are too long, my shots are limited, whitetail deer hate them, I feel like I'm not outside and really able to enjoy the hunt as much, and I gave up on them.  Now it's either a ghillie, figuring out how to conceal myself better, and trying to get creative.

WESTBROOK

Your right Matt, I usually have a couple pop-ups for nasty days but would much rather hunt "outdoors".

Ron LaClair

I love my Hidden Hunter blinds.

The wind can blow and the rain can pour, it covers the noise when I doze and snore.. and if I should fall right out of my chair.. it's not far to where I'll land down there.

I'd rather be snug as a bug in here in this kind of weather than perched in a tree like a human Popsicle...   :bigsmyl:

Well I've punched out at work tomorrow and I'm heading out for my inaugural hunt with my Schulz Granpa and HHA quiver!

Gonna set up on a bedding area before first light and then still hunt from about 1000 onwards.

Wish me luck!
