I'm interested in any responses to Blaino's arrow question, as I have a Wesley on order, 55#@28". I currently shoot woodies in 60-65, 65-70, and a few 70-75s, all 30" with 190 gr. up front in my other bows, and I'm hoping that one of these combinations will work with the Wesley. Any opinions?

Mudd

I decided to take my Sunset Hill (in the name of the Father, "I am") for a spin today.

My 1st shot was a clean but close miss. (a sin) But my second arrow found it's mark.

Specs on the bow are 66" 50@28 and the shots were the same as yesterdays, 12-14 yds.

Thanks for looking.

God bless,Mudd

Here we go!! Sept 15 is coming!!
Good luck Swamp!
Let the air outta a big one.

October first is the magic day here in Michigan.  I have not been in the woods for over 7 years....a lot of catchin' up to do here brother.

Similar set-up with the arras...27.25 woodies with Ace 160s up front.

Mudd....you missed (you sinner    :p    )

That is a pretty bow!  White glass on the belly is growing on me.  Can't wait to see it in person.  Gonna have to make a plan for a Mid Missouri visit one of these days. [/b]

Jaques,Congrats on the new job, just don't get caught carving a Hill style riser out of Ruger's walnut in the custom shop!  :p

SportHunter

Congrats on the new job Jacques. Ruger makes great American guns, glad to know you're in their crew.

Well I did it. Just reshaped the pretty squared off grip to a thinner edge so I can "find" the grip in my hand. Trimmed the original leather cover a bit and glued it back on. Can't really tell I was ever there.

Jacques, congrats brother. I know it is scary when looking for work, it was easier pre-children and pre-marriage but now more is on the line. I am very happy for you, and the Lord always provides.

I got an arrow question.

My Wesley is supposed to show up on Friday.  It's 70" and 65#@30" (my draw). I'm already behind the eight ball since our deer season starts tomorrow.  And I'm committing to this bow for the rest of our season.   So, I'd like to be shooting straight ASAP.
I have some 2219. What do yall think? Or maybe 2020 shafts. Most of my broad heads are 200g and i prefer my shafts to be 30.5 and no longer then 31"
String is B-50

Anybody?    :dunno:

Thanks

Blaino... those 2219's should work just fine.

Centaur... 65-70 spine works fine with my bow that is the same specs as yours. I prefer 2216 aluminum, though.

Brazos

Do any of you build up your grip with Bondo in an effort to reshape it?  Since it covers with a leather grip you wouldn't see it.

Charlie Lamb

Brazos... I did that to one of my bows and am thinking about removing it.
Makes for a real comfortable and personal grip but I get better function from a straight or slightly dished grip.

Looper

I use layers of leather, attach it with barge cement, and shape it with a sharp knife or a file.

Overspined

I did that last week too looper. I took a Hill T/D and made her a wedge grip! It's solid.

Brianlocal3

I formally make a motion that Looper and Overspined make a how to on the building of leather on the grip to reshape it to personal preference.!! Can I get a second.
