Yeah I sold it a while back when I injured a shoulder. I'm real grateful that the current owner was willing to sell it back to me.

Been working my way back up in poundage and lifting weights to strengthen my shoulders to protect from further injury and I think I'm ready.

This particular bow is smooth drawing and hard hitting. I have missed its "thump"!

Sad day in the Hill style bow archery world. Louie Armbruster of Zebra Longbows passed away on 8/16, he was 87. For those that know (and don't) he was a legend in the longbow circles.

When the compound bow was coming on strong, Louie was one of the few that kept the traditional flame alive building and selling Zebra Longbows.

Hunted in blue jeans, a plaid coat, stocking hat, wore a back quiver and used wooden arrows. Many of the deer he killed were shot on the run up to 80 yards away (as told told me by his hunting partners, not Louie) He always hunted on the ground.

You will be missed.......
Remember, if you walk a mile in someone's shoes, you will be a mile away and have their shoes.

Message for Rob:
I read in another thread about brace height you wrote your bows are in 5 3/4 - 6 1/2 and therefore are HH: please let us (me) know what is the lowest bow? Maybe a Miller?
Thanks.
Marco.

Mudd

Thank you for letting us know Hank.

My prayers and condolences to his family and those who knew and loved him.

God bless,Mudd

Mike-

I feel the heat too in Florida, going hunting Saturday morning. I'll be out of the woods by noon.

Well I'm the newest member of the club. Just bought a Howard Hill Tembo 65@26. So at my 28 inch pull should be just over 70.

I swore off longbows about 6 months ago. Then last weekend I shot one with a straight and THIN grip like a Hill. Shot it better than my recurves....I've been bitten...

I have to admit that I am behind the 8 ball on reading up on the thread. With alot of "comotion" going on about HH bows, it has really peaked my intrest!

Hey Nate,

I'll be happy to throw in a 3-pack of our Talon small game heads to the Hill shooter that submits the best story for a small game animal taken with a Hill bow.  But, I'm not going to be the judge...  :D

Okie man

I don't know if you all are watching but there are at least 2 more Hill threads going besides this one.  We may have an epidemic on our hands.

Frassettor- when we get together to shoot I will have my Robin Hood Hill. Be warned though, if you let an arrow fly from it the bite may be incurable.

Heads up for you guys that shoot heavy bows! I see there's a 66" 70# string fallow American Longbow, by Schulz for sale on another site.

Well since I've got a Tembo in the mail I decided to read this thread from start to finish. I'm on page 25 of 292 lol. Its a very fun read!
