How high are you guys hunting? I have a old man climber that I like but I cant shoot out of it. I feel it's because of how high I hunt. Normally I will climb to 20-25 ft. The mountain winds makes it hard to hunt any lower.

At that hieght Jeff, it would be a problem for me too. Ive hunted as low as 10ft on occasion and normally not over 20ft max. My most used hieght is 15 ft. All depends on ground cover density , available trees, and how close the deer are going to be. I may have an opportunity to go on up high, but to get a good solid shot i often choose not to because of other factors, no matter the stand type im using.

Summit Goliath, but I haven't used it in a few years.  Getting to where I like hunting from the ground after the deer learned to look up.

I will agree with it getting in the way and being a slight hassle to make you be more careful, but I hunted from mine several times this year and didn't have any problems.  I even managed to miss a deer out of mine.              

The biggest factor is seat height(lower than knees) for me.  You have to have it at a certain height or you will have to really watch what you're doing to be able to shoot from it.  

I have sat in a couple lone wolfs and I can't sit in them long at all..  the seats stink in my opinon, but I don't have much cushion on my booty.. lol..

I prefer my Open Shot. I bought it back when they called it the Brush Master.

I bought the top portion only of a lone wolf assault and team in up with the platform of my Timbertall.  Makes for a great combo when I have the longbow in my hand.

I used to use a Clear Shot (same as open shot but seat was a triangle) great stand. Soft bark tree's only for climbing, don't ask how I know

I use vipers but have both tops for em prefer open front for bow

I use an Ol Man with the rail for a footrest.
