Looking for something so you can stand up against tree instead of 18" out feeling like a sore thumb!! Got any?   :)
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Kenny, Guru had a story couple years ago and talked about a ladder stand with fold up seat. I purchased one at Menards 3 years ago but don't remember the brand.

Millenium makes one. If I thought I had any hope of still owning it a week after putting it up I'd have one. I think it is 21 feet though. They are pricey, a little north of 300.00 Good Luck

Dick's Sporting Goods. 16' Comfort Zone Deluxe. $79. and Free S&H. We've got 20 of them. Excellent.

Just to echo what Barry said, DSG is the way to go.

I have 2 Oldtimer stands that have a mesh/net seat that when you stand up it slides against the back and lets you stand tight against the tree. Your legs shove it back and it takes no effort or extra movement to make it happen and best of all it makes no noise.
I would've taken better care of myself,if I'd known I was gonna live this long!

Once again Barry is dead on. Great stand. Rated at 300 pounds. Well made. I leave one section out and can pack it in fully assembled over a mile without problem. Plenty high enough for me at 10 ft. Price cannot be beat.   :campfire:

Thank you all!  I'm gonna fabricate a couple this winter and see if I like em. Most I've sat in squeak. I've been planning on design but the fold up seat I don't have figured out yet....

We made some hang on stands a few years back, they are heavy at 26# but not hard to hang and you could square dance on em without a peep....
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Kenny, when I still used more ladder stands I would, buy up hang on stands with the, flip up seat and add my ladder and supports bolted, and welded on.

I've been using a few I got from Dicks Sporting Goods also.  Not sure what the model is.

Whip

I like the one Barry mentioned.  I don't like the side rails that stick above the seat though. I can shoot over them OK, but I lost a chance at a buck one time because I touched it with my bottom limb and he heard it.  Now I just cut them off.

I have some Rivers Edge Bowmans that are very nice; full platform and very comfortable flip up mesh seat.  I bought mine on special at Scheels and think GM carries them as well.  The Old Man mentioned above is good, too, and the lightest I know of.  It also uses two straps and is very solid.

Like Whip, I dislike the armrests and leave them off or remove them.

Haven't tried the Dick's Comfort Zone, but trust Barry when he says it's a good one.

this is my 4th season using the "Comfort zone deluxe" ladder stands from Dicks..We use them as permanent stands in Ohio and Florida. I bought 7 more this past summer. I buy extra nylon washers and use bolts and nuts for the ladder sections. We add camo paint to them and paint all the bolts and nuts too. I use an aftermarket seat cushion in place of the one that come with it

I got one from SG called the Black Lab by Big Dog.  It has a huge platform and a very comfortable seat that flips up out of the way.  There are no rails of any kind to get in the way of shooting.  It actually feels more like a hang on once you are in it.

I have the Bowman too. Haven't put it in the woods yet, but have it set up in the yard. Seems to be a great stand.
