If you could only have one bow for hunting what would it look like? I was just curious because I am in to pretty bows but I've gotten  the urge to have one dipped in Camo. What do you all preference pretty, painted, dipped or doesn't matter.
Kids who hunt, trap, & fish don't mug little old ladies.

VA Elite

I don't think I could dip a nice bow in camo paint.

Timberghost Hybrid T/D longbow. No way would I dip or paint it.

My initial preference was always beautiful wood but you can have the most beautiful bow in the world that only shoots...eh?  Better to have a bow that shoots with all the potential you might desire/require.  Anymore the looks of my bows matter less and the potential for accuracy, tune-ability and arrow flight trump all.  You can have your cake and eat it too though...beauty and shoot-ability.

Field used bows often reflect the character they've garnered; they scream utility and practicality!

My friends always told me my Blacktail Elite was TOO pretty to hunt with...I beg to differ.

The great thing these days is you don't have to pick great looking and workmanship OR works great. You can have both with many bowhunters.

My leading candidate for 2015 is a Blacktail Sitka.

If you wont hunt with them you might just as well start collecting stamps. My crowd would get a laugh out of a bow too pretty to hunt with!

Well I have a few very beautiful bows , but they are not my favorite to shoot or hunt with .
My Bear Super Grizzly is my favorite shooter and hunter
Not much to look at , bland Diamond Wood , but don't need anything to cover it up because it has at flat finish .
I think if I were to use a coverup it would be one of the spandex sleeves that are offered in different camo patterns .

Several years ago a buddy of mine took a rattle can to a blacktail, Norm just about had a coronary when he saw it!

IMHO, if it's too pretty to use...it's pretty useless. I've driven new trucks through mud holes...I've scuffed limb tips on $1200 bows. I'm FAR from bring wealthy...money is always an issue. But I buy things to use as I see fit.

My one bow would look like one that I shoot perfectly. Being human, like I am, I haven't found that one yet lol.

Never owned one but in my opinion the perfect hunting bow has copperhead skins on it.

I had thoughts of dipping my Kanati longbow in Nat Gear camo.

For looks alone I prefer a one piece with a slender riser like a lot of 50's style bows. But I am new to this and sometimes a persons taste will change over time. I can see the practical side of a takedown. That Maddog posted with the Elm sure caught my eye.

If I had just one bow, it would one of the ones I already have. I think brown glass or a wood veneer is more than enough camo for a bow. I shot a turkey with a white glassed longbow, if turkey don't panic when they see a white longbow, I am not sure how much it all matters.

Tree Killer: you have a pair of beautiful blacktails there! You rattle him in?

stevem

The perfect bow looks like a '71 Bear Kodiak.
