Does anyone make a longer nock for carbon arrows?
It would seem that a 1" long nock would be really handy in getting that little extra overall length.

Or maybe it is just getting to be a really long winter.

Arrow nock adapters and use glue on nocks, not sure if that makes things longer, certainly not 1" but with the right nock maybe 1/2".

If you fletch your own shafts, move your feathers forward in the clamp of your jig, this will afford you more room behind the feathers if that's what you are seeking.  I may be misunderstanding your needs but the affect will be the same.

I think GT is making their nock adapters again? These adapters allow you to add weight to the rear end of the arrow. But just using the adapter will give you an extra 1/2" in length.

Do you mean the length from the edge of the shaft to the back of nock?

kat

Not looking to move the feathers forward, just lengthen the overall length of the arrow.
I wouldn't want to add more weight, other than the few grains the plastic nock would weigh.
I just thought it would be handy to have longer nocks that would look and fit just like the standard ones. The idea is to provide more length from the nock throat to the point.
This could reserect some arrows that are cut just slightly too short, and maybe help those with looong draw lengths that want to shoot carbons.

GT aluminum nock adapters.  Weigh virtually nothing while add 1/5".
If we're not supposed to eat animals ... how come they're made out of meat? ~anon

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

The nock takes a lot of stress, including sideways stress as the string rolls off the shooter's fingers. An inch longer nock, if made out of plastic, wouldn't be as strong as current set ups.  Too, it might exert a sideways, splitting force on the arrow shaft, which could probably be overcome by making the inserted part of the nock longer.

The better solution would be to manufacture carbon arrows a little longer. Given that humans keep getting larger and commensurately our draw lengths, maybe some manufacturers will add a little length to their shafts in the future.

Of course, you can splice carbon, using an inner ferrule much like a fishing rod, but it's a lot of trouble to go through to add an inch of length.
