What was your favorite species of big game to hunt?  Favorite North American?  Favorite African? Australian? Other location?

elk far and away my fave. I enjoyed Africa for sure, love moose and deer and antelope are a ball as well, but a lot of that is they are good eating.

however, nothing, and I mean nothing compares to elk.  id hunt them over all of the rest of it.
is it September yet??

Elk for Big Game.  Snowshoe Hares in AK with my recurve for small game.

Caribou ... best spot and stalk critter I have ever hunted

Love them ALL but Caribou were built for bowhunting. Large antlers on a medium sized body make for impressive critters. The country they live in also makes them special. From Newfoundland to Alaska I love the tundra and the Mountains of BC are incredible! Caribou!

1. Mule Deer
2. White-tail Deer
3. Pronghorn Antelope
4. Black Bear
5. Elk

I rate elk last just because after 3, DIY hunts I have failed to take a shot.  Elk country is beautiful, the animal is majestic, and if I had a little bit of success they would probably mean more to me. Hoping to fix all that in September, 2015.

Oh, I won't know until after early October this year but I'm hoping Moose shoot to the top of this list after my first hunt for them!

Jack Shanks

I've hunted quite a few of the North American species and one trip to Africa for plains game.

Probably sheep and Mt goats are my favorite just because where they live.

Elk and Caribou for this guy, but as I learn more about them Bighorns are really starting to become my focal point

For sheer fun - Caribou.

What I'm the most passionate about - Moose.

The animal I like interacting with the most - Black bears.

And then I love hunting all the other stuff too.
May your next adventure lighten your heart, test your spirit, and nourish your soul.

for the freezer; elk and moose.

but for the excitement; coastal bear, and of course, mountain lion.

got to add; i hunt from the ground, no bait, no blind, spot-n-stalk, i get bored easy so i need to stay active. probably has hindered me a few times. will be using treestand and honey burn for the first time this spring taking my wife out after her first black bear.

Elk for travel, but for day in and day out everyday normal hunting my most favorite would definitely be hogs!
They'll be no quitters till we bag us some critters!

1. Elk
2. Whitetail
3. Black Bear

Elk hunting gets me the most excited,as I love the mountain hunting and I get to hunt with my son. I have had two close calls with getting a shot, but it has not happened, yet.

Whitetail is very accesible to me at very little cost so I do more of that. Hunting that is, as I have not shot a deer for sometime- still waiting for a big buck. I let a few pass this past year.

Black bear hunting is just different to me; crawling out through brush from a stand at dark, knowing I might come face to face with something looking for a meal. I have not hunted bear for a few years now.

I keep applying for moose, elk and sheep but have never been drawn, yet. It is fun to think about tho.

Here at home, spot and stalk mule deer.  In Australia, pigs and goats, lots of animals, lots of opportunities.

My favorite is the one I'm hunting at the moment.  I have been fortunate to hunt Caribou, Black Bear, Elk, Moose, Mule Deer, Whitetails.  I have been incapacitated by uncontrollable shaking by ALL of them at one time or another and EVERY time that happens I think "That was my favorite".  The last time was on last October's moose hunt and the worst/best was on an elk hunt (couldn't walk for ten minutes after that encounter).  With a bow in my hand they are ALL my favorites.

As far as big game goes, I've only hunted whitetails and black bear.  I guess I take whitetails for granted, being we have an abundance.  I love bear hunting!!  Small game, it's gotta be rabbits and turkeys. I'm dreaming of caribou, elk and moose as well as a trip to Africa.

I'd have to agree with Pete - whatever I'm hunting at the moment is the best of all time. I've been lucky enough to chase some outstanding critters,  and have loved chasing them all.
But if it came down to being told I have one more hunt left in me before leaving this world,  make mine am elk hunt!

I love 'em all.
Hunt whitetails all fall here at homw.
Love going to the mountains for elk.
Caribou was one of my best hunts ever.
Wish I could do black bear every year.
Hog and javelina are just plain fun.
Can't forget spot and stalk mule deer
Got a moose hunt scheduled for next year. That's something to look forward to.
