Which type Hill style bow grip do you prefer and WHY ? StraIght, Dished or Positive Locator ? Thanks

Overspined

Straight.  I love the feel of dished but it doesn't perform as well for me.  I think my hand collapses with dished and it's not a strong grip for me. A little dish is ok, but still straight keeps my hand properly placed and pressure correct. Seems like better alignment with straight.  A slight locator is my second favorite, but some locator grips seem to be shaped better than others for both depth and shape, again promoting good grip form. The wrong locator seems to torque my wrist oddly and causes pain, or the bow wants to rotate out of proper pressure.  I don't want all the pressure in the web...

Straight I feel I have a better grip on the bow. Had a few with locator and could not shoot consistent with them.

As stated above, unless a locator is perfectly fit to my hand they don't work well. Most don't. I got lucky with my Kramer, it locates perfect. I have to think about where my hand is all the time with a straight grip and it becomes a distraction. Slight dish tends to work with any bow all the time.

I recently asked Paul about the grip on his Kramer, a locater which looks like it would be perfect.  I would like to have it duplicated on my next bow.  Thanks again Paul!

It's a tough call for me as I like both my dish grip Hill and my straight grip Hill. They are very close except for the slight dish. They just feel more natural to me with my Hill's.I shot a Hill many years ago with a wedge grip and would like to get one maybe in the future.

I really like the straight grip on my Northern Mist Classic. When I first started shooting a Hill style longbow I thought the straight grip might not work for me but have been pleasantly surprised at how much I like it.

I like the rounded straight grip on my Hill take-downs. I had the locator grip on a Hill one piece but it never felt right so I sold it.

On Hill made bows, there's really not much difference between a straight, dished and indexed grip.  The index or dish are usually fairly slight. Some are more pronounced on bows made by other makers. I switch from one to another and hardly notice the difference.  Regardless, pretty much personal preference.  The only way for you to know what's right for you is to try them all.

My bow although not a take down has the small take down grip that is slightly dished 1/8 deep.
I remember talking to Bob Burton at a shoot and I held his bow and liked it...Grip mentioned above.
So when I talked to Craig at HHA I told him I want a grip like Mr. Burton, Craig said no problem....

The straight grip on my Echo fits my hand perfectly.

I like a 2 1/8th deep narrow grip. The straight grip is just what I shoot best. YMMV

On my Hill bows, I like the straight and slight dish about equally well. They feel comfortable and natural to me.

Have both in 2 wesley spec. Very slight dish feels better just holding the bow but the straight seems to set better in my hand once the draw starts.
