I have always hunted out of a treestand and will continue to do most of my hunting out of a stand, but I finally got a Double Bull blind and will be taking it to Missouri on an upcoming trip.  I've never hunted out of a blind, I understand I need to wear all black including my hands and face.  What I'm unsure of is if I need to brush in my blind.  I'll be hunting hardwoods in southern MO, almost all deep woods.  No fields and no meadows that I can see on the aerial photos.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would, a blind suddenly appearing can definitely get their attention - I've had more than 1 deer blow at my turkey blind

Ok, I got a nice homemade ghillie, but no way I could shoot my bow with it, way too much stuff hanging off of it.  I made it for yotes out west.

Trim the bow arm sleeve  on the ghillie or I read of someone who cut the bow arm sleeve off.

Blinds work great! Find a nice big ceder tree if possible were your wanting to hunt. Cut enough branches to slide the blind right up under them leaving the door to the front of course. Leave your screens up and the deer will hardly notice it.

You can brush it in as much as you want.

Or very little! This blind location has killed more deer and turkeys then I can remember. This is the third blind in this same spot that we wore out. Time fore a permanent blind

A view from inside!

Good luck!

You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"

I have one out under a tree in the shadows all day and deer get close to it but it has been there 6 weeks. They do seem to notice when the windows are open even with the screens up. Not all of them but some pick up on that little difference probably of they have been around it a lot.

I would try and tuck it on some and brush a little. If you are going to set it and hunt it right off.
