With three weeks till Michigans early doe season I am still totally unprepared, with the exception of my bow, arrows, ad broadheads. Anyone else last minute like myself?
All we have to decide is what to do with the time given to us.

I might be worse.  With the exception of my bow and arrows I havent even looked at anything else yet, and our season opened up two days ago.  I cant seem to get too excited until the temp drops a bit

What else do you need? Doesn't take more than that to hunt a deer.

lhbandito22

he grew out of his snuggy last year and he has had trouble finding a new one... hahaha

I just need to fletch up a few more arrows and strop the broadheads.  Come on October!!!!!

Waiting on my new bow to be completed and shipped.  It'll be much easier to work with it and off-the-shelf components than my giant draw self-made attempts.

Now I have to figure out how to draw 5" short.

Will we truly know if we are ready until the arrow is on it's way?   :dunno:

I am also not ready.  I will get home from this deployment 1 week before the season starts in good ole indiana.  Got a new bow to get set up and stand still to hang.  Its gonna be a busy week.  Hope it will pay off.

With the whole family's schedule these days I pretty well scout as I hunt. I will pack my bag and give my broadheads one more touch up the night before season. Never can sleep that night anyway.   :D

I'm in same boat. Nothing ready and running out of time. It will all come together some how...lol

Bladepeek

Definitely not ready. I just got a new set of arrows tuned up. They are now flying great with bare shaft, field tips and broadhead hitting together, but now I need to sharpen the set of Zwickey 160 gr single bevels that I want to shoot this year.

There is nothing even approaching an edge on them out of the pack. You couldn't cut yourself on one of them even if you were suicidal. Finished one of them last night, but I was having trouble keeping my eyes open and gave up for the night.

I still have 40 plus stand sites to get ready!! Did about 25 so far but more to go! I have 2 weeks to get them done and than 2 weeks later  the season opens. Shawn

Got to get stands ready and more scouting done, but by October I'll be there.

Sam McMichael

Well, I have checked all the stands, and relocated where needed. However, I still need some more tune up shooting and form review, but what the heck, I always need that. I will strop the broad heads during the week before opening day. But in terms of desire and great anticipation, I am always ready!

All Im waiting on is the temp to drop. I hate sweating while hunting. I don't want the meat to spoil from the hour ride home from the farm. I process my own meat, I just can't bring myself to take it to a processor and spend over a hundred dollars to get done what I can do for for free.

Seems like I always fly by the seat of my pants to get ready for bow season. Somehow get it done though. Having teenagers keeps me very busy. Shooting everyday. But my gear is still needing attention. Good luck.

You definately need a knife - maybe more than one - and good footwear.  Then you should be set.    :archer2:

Have one more stand to hang , steps  and rapid rales up, cut oak branches and hung them today. I do not hunt until it cools down also but looking at that tree with my brush hangers with oak leaves is tempting.
