Well Tradgang buddies, im back after a few months. Ive been having some war related mental health issues that I refused to accept for a long time. It ultimately led to a complete breakdown and I kinda fell off the map in pretty much every area of my life. Though I never stopped shooting; work, family, archery, and school all suffered. But im happy to say with the help of the VA and other infantry vets im back on track and have accepted that it isnt a good idea to go it alone. Im glad to be back on the forum and very excited for the upcoming deer draw on June 2nd here in CA. I got a bear tag this year as well, so god help the bear I come across while im out in the woods with my recurve.

Good on ya for seeking help. It's too tough to go it alone with the mental stuff. Sounds like you're on a good path ahead.
And having the hunting season to look forward to is a big help. Good luck.

Thare - good luck with your recovery.  I live just outside of Ft Hood, and even though I only have a few neighbors, they're all either Active Duty, or Retired.  My closest neighbor has been battling what you are after his 3rd deployment...things just keep building.  He did his time in the VA down in San Antonio, and now a year later, he's in better control of things.  He's going to do his full 20, and is only 10 years in, but a big part of his own therapy is helping others who aren't as far along as he is.  Thank You for your service, and may God Bless your journey.
