Hi Guys
I was wondering if anybody could recommend a reputable supplier of POC bareshafts. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I am from Australia. Thanks

Hi Ian, Why POC??? POC isn't that good anymore as it once was. A few years ago I moved over to from POC to Stika Spruce and never looked back. Sitka is very strong, about 10% less weight then POC (lets say 10.5 GPI, depending on the spine value), very very strong, straight or easy to straighten, and consistent in weight. They fly incredibly well. Downside is they are a little bit higher in price, but that's more then worth it!

Here you have dealer in Australia:    http://www.tradbits.com.au/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=79&Itemid=1

And here some info on Sitka:    http://www.tradbits.com.au/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=79&Itemid=1

Think it over mate!

BTW, what bow are you shooting and how much weight?
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string! [/i]

I have found Doug fir from surewood to be superior to POC. I haven't good quality POC in a long time.

Littlejohn.....check with Wapiti Archery.  They're producing excellent POC shafts.
ASL's, Selfbows, and Wood Arra's
Just because you are passionate about something, doesn't mean you don't suck at it.

Hey, sometimes it's just about shooting POC, which I prefer to other shafts. They're just a bit harder to find.
Try Back Porch Archery and Wapiti Archery. Not sure if Back Porch will sell raw shafts but he has high quality stuff. Wapiti also has high quality arrows and I think they cut their own POC lumber.  Both have provided me with straight high quality arrows.
I have tried all sorts of wood shafts over the last 30 years and keep coming back to POC.

Thanks guys for your suggestions. You do have a point though. The quality of POCs are deteriorating. However i thought i would give it 1 more go. Otherwise i will be in search of a replacement shaft.

BTW Ad i shoot a Blacwidow longbows 1 @ #53
                                   1 @ #52
               and a english longbow @ #53

Hi Ian, do you use your bows for hunting?

Thanks Stumpkiller
hey Ab
I have in the past been hunting with the bows, though I haven't hunted much over the last 12 months. Hunt rabbits, pigs and goats and the odd fox.  I use fmj's for hunting and wood for trad stuff as a rule.
