Pick a spot, pick a spot, pick a spot.  That is what I kept telling myself as I could tell my first ever shot at a deer with traditional equipment was about to happen.  It was perfect there he was a 6 pointer 12 yards broadside.  I had practiced for this moment all summer.  I draw and release a perfect shot right over his back.  Problem is I don't remember if I picked a spot or not.  It was a total rush,  but I am definitely going to have to control buck fever for sure.  Sure wish I would have picked up a recurve 20 years ago,  but very thankful for the opportunity the good lord gave me.  Back to the woods tomorrow.

Good job just getting an oppurtunity at 12 yards, you will get another.

After 20 years of never being able to pick a spot on live game I read Jay Kidwell's book on the brain game with Instinctive archery.  Changed my entire approach.  The button method has been a great technique.

Good luck

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.
