An article from the local paper the ellwood city ledger. Dave Evans, above, of North Sewickley Township, shot a doe — yes, a doe — with an 8-point rack still in full velvet. This was confirmed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission on Wednesday.

Anything is possible.

As a matter of fact, I got fingerprinted the other day for a background check and there is now 9 official genders to choose from in the database.  That is no joke!

And to think that the Good Lord only created 2 ... makes one really realize just how screwed up our world is getting    .

About 15 or so years ago I saw one a friend killed during bow season here in LA.

A.S.

My Dad killed a spike doe when I was young. It was still in velvet as well.

Well, that is to say the least very interesting.

About 25 years ago when I was gun hunting I shot an eight point and when I went to field dress it I noticed he was a she. It doesn't happen often.

I killed a pretty good 9pt doe about 3 years ago. She had rubbed her rack clean. I would show a picture but it was a smoke pole kill.

Have a friend that killed a forked horn doe still in velvet about 20 years ago

I think that the doe that is displayed in the gas station in Tifton Georgia actually has 11 points.  I don't remember all the details, but she was killed many years ago by a local hunter.

I have read a few stories about confirmed doe with horns. It happens every once in a while.

Heard tell of it several times over the years, but have never seen one in person. Pretty cool.

I killed a very large fork horned doe a while back and haven't seen one since.

It does happen from time to time.
