For those of you who paper tune,what kind of adhesive are you using on your inserts,and how do you remove it if the shaft needs to be cut down?

hotmelt glue from bigjims. works great

could probably get away with plastic wrapping the insert as well, never tried it though.

I just made my 1st venture into carbons.

I used industrial strength hot glue.
Have shot into some targets that didn't want to let go and the inserts stayed right in the arrows where they should be.

I found I could screw a field point on, heat the point, and that transfered through to the insert glue for insert removal.

Worked like a charm.

I don't glue my inserts in for tuning,I'll push in the insert with alittle saran wrap around it.It will hold the insert in snug enough for shooting and tuning.Just don't shoot it into a foam target,they grab too tight and will pull the insert out on arrow removal.I get my tuning done quick and easy and don't use any heat on my carbons.

Chris , make sure you decide on a tip weight before you start cutting those arras.  

I use this stuff called ram tough, it bonds like epoxy without the hassle of mixing the 2. For removing the inserts I used a propane torche to heat the glue while rolling the arrow over it at the insert point, at a medium to fast pace so you are consistent in melting the glue as well as not damaging the arrow. Works for me every time

I just started using tbe blue cool melt, seems to work well, though I never had trouble with traditional hot melt.

I use hot melt glue (doesn't matter which brand) to do all my tuning and usually end up using it for all my arrows.

I know there are a lot that paper tune. This works great for wheel bows because they are center shot. For bows that are not center shot though it can be tricky.

because our arrows start out kicking to the left from a right handed bow and vice versa for left, they take a few feet to straighten back out. It is possible to make even a poorly tuned arrow fly through paper as a bullet hole at the right distance.
