I need a few ?'s answered This is the mudd creek long bow I need to know what the brace height is or whats a good place to start. Also this is a 64" at 50#s at 28"s  I need some new arrows what would be a good spine to start with I pull 28"s. also how long of string do I need for a 64" bow is it 61" or no.  Mike

I would go with about a 6.5" to 7" brace height.I had one years ago and that was the range that worked for me.For arrows I would try a 2016 in aluminum or a 500 spine in carbons.Like GT 35/55,Beman ICS or MFX 500 or any other 500 spine arrow.Start full length and trim and tune with the weight you want upfront.Your bow is 64",get a string for a 64" AMO bow which would be a 61" string. When I make up a new string for my bows,I like to measure the actual string at the brace height I want.Or if I don't have the old string I'll measure the bow from nock to nock to make sure of the actual length.

I THOUGHT THE Mudd Creek model was a flatbow.  I had one of Jerry's longbows but didn't like it.  Too much handshock.  Dick

LinemanARK

Well this one has some hand sock to not to bad but I do notice it after the shot. Is there anything to help get the shock out? I really like the bow it has  snake skin on the front of the bow . I can hold the bow back forever It just feels right. If you mine Flat bow when unstrung it is flat as hell, against the wall or door.

up top please need more info on previous post.

a well made bow should have much shock. what weight arrows are you shooting? Id try to increase the brace height some. dont go much.  a couple twists at a time til it shoots better.

Heavy arrows will help some and I reverse trapped the limbs a little.  Still way too much handshock.  Jerry uses a lot of taper in his limbs.  Personally I think it's too much.  I use .992 total in the limbs.  He uses .004.  Dick

Flat bows have a wider limb than longbows and usually are a bit shorter.  Dick

Bo I was shooting 3 different arrows trying to find something to shoot. The first was a 3555 GT with a 100gn insert and a 100gn tip total weight was 445gns. The seacond was a beman FMX 500 weighing 505gns. The 3rd was a 5060 carbon express it had a 125gn tip and total weight is 425gns. The Carbon express shoot the best but you can see bad arrow flight better that the other 2 but doesn't that affect the point of impact on the target.  Mike   All arrows are 30"s long.
