With most animals having limited color vision, seems like the Asbell's Shadow Plaid would work really well at breaking up the outline.

I've got an Asbell 'shadow plaid' pullover. Chose it based on the same thinking you mention. Very happy with it. I think those pullovers are the best deal going in woolen wear.

Are they Really Heavy Woolens?? They look great!

The wool plaids that the Asbells sell blend into the woods, and you can't go wrong with them. The heavier weights might be a bit much for Texas, but I have a lighter weight that I bought for September elk, and I bet it would work great for the Texas version of winter. The Highlander Plaid is the lightweight one I got. Good stuff.

Thanks guys. I do have one of the Asbell pullovers already. Believe it or not, it gets cold enough to wear it.

I thought I saw some black and white pics in the past with guys wearing plaid. I supposed it was red plaid, but the shadow plaid seems like it would work well in winter conditions as Centaur mentioned.

You don't hear about many people buying the shadow pattern though...at least I don't.  I was just curious who might wear it and if they had any pics from the field.

Love mine! When I'm sitting in the woods my hunting buddy has a much easier time finding me by spotting my fletching or my camo pants. Says he never can see my magic wool hoodie

Here's a pic for you.  This is the evening stand green.  I believe its the 28oz wool.  I really like these pullovers but do find that they run large for layering purposes.  My first one was large the one in image is a medium.  The wool is heavy enough, but honestly it's not as heavy as say wool blanket.

I have a pull over in standing timber gray. I was lucky this year while wearing it--4 deer. The pattern worked well for me in oak trees and in pine. I really like the vertical lines of this pattern. Peace!

I have evening stand brown pull over and love it (28oz) I believe.  My next will be shadow plaid...really like the looks of that one!  I do wish it was available le in the heavier weight wool though.

I bought an Evening Stand Green vest love the 28oz wool, couldn't beat the price! the next item I want to get is one of the NEW Asbell jackets with the zipper! they had a few there but they sold out real fast, Teresa says they will be a stock item going forward!

now that they have zippers, I'm in. It gets warm during the day alot down here so a zipper is a must to help regulate body temps. I'm torn between the shadow plaids and the evening stand plaids. Decisions decisions.

I just clicked and saved nearly every pattern they make....then turned them black&white and compared the patterns to one another.

I'm sure they'll all work just fine, but I am real impressed with the Hawthorn Hideaway, Morning Sage, and plain Gray. I think they're tied for first place.

Evening Stand Green, Shadow Plaid, Buffalo Plaid, and Standing Timber Gray are all tied for second place.

I currently have Northern Lights.  Not bad, but pretty dark overall. Maybe I need a new one in a new patter...  

I've been looking at these as well, really like the Standing Timber Brown, but seems like the Standing Timber Gray has more contrast. Hey TxAG, cool idea, what program did you use to change them? Tried it with "paint" and the pictures just turned black.

I have two of Teresa's hooded vest but neither is shadow plad, which admittedly is my favorite. My shadowplaid wool shirt fills this void. You can't go wrong with Teresa's wool products.
