I bought a Morrison Dakota the other day and it was shipped to me from the previous owner.

See the attached pictures of "exactly" the way it was delivered.

When the US Postal service mailman brought it out of his truck...this is exactly how the package looked. Evidently the "sharp" tip on the bow had worked itself through the packaging & pierced through the corner of the box as the sleeve had been pushed into the box. ! But thank goodness, the tip had no markings, scuffs or apparent damage. I shot it yesterday and it appears to be okay.

A bullet dodged no doubt! 

It is a beautiful bow that only Bob Morrison knows how to build and I am very pleased with it.

It would have been hard to see this longbow destroyed in such a way!

Wow! Glad everything worked out.  That could have been disasterous.  Hope you like your bow.

That is amazing that it was not damaged.  Nice to see the postal workers cared enough to get it to you safely because that could have been disastrous.

hayslope

You dodged a bullet there for sure!

Kudos to the US Postal Service.

We are quick to rip them for the occasional mishaps but this was a recipe for disaster.

That's why I only ship in PVC tubes. That could have been real bad,try and get them to pay if insured they would say it was not packed correctly.

PVC tubes for me on longbows for sure.

I'm glad all turned out well.  I hate seeing that sort of stuff.

Oh man, I was browsing the pics before reading and I thought you were showing the bow off like a strip tease!  Thought that was brilliant way to do it, but wow, that is just scary. Glad you still got it safe!

I didn't know Bob started using cardboard as a riser!!  Guess it is some high tech lightweight material he perfected again   :goldtooth:

That would of been better off in a carpet tube with 6 inches bubble wrap on either tip.
