I found a set of new Sabre Glass arrows for my buddy who has been looking for some for some time.

They had new Bear Razorheads (greenies) on them.

He took them to work to show the others because he was so excited to find a dozen unused Sabre Glass arrows to hunt with.

One of (what he calls) "the wheelie experts" picked one up and asked

"Those are pretty neat broad heads. I've never seen anything like that before. What are they?"

Since I've been an archer since the mid-60's and have owned and still own a few Bears, I know what the broadheads are -- I just sent a bunch to a fellow in Texas.  However, I have to admit I have never heard of the Sabre Glass arrows.

I had some yellow Micro-flights back in the 70's.

If a bowhunter isn't able to match up Fred, Ben, Glenn, Pope, & Young maybe he should have to pay double for his license.  Of course I am only kidding.

After 60,000 years of good and bad ideas there ain't nothing new in archery.

Traditional equipment reminds us of where we've been and is a refuge from where "they" are.

My then pre-teen niece was in the back seat of our car a few years back and she marveled at the hand-crank window.  "I can open the window myself even with the car off!  What a great idea."

Young guys should hang out with old guys.  Old guys know stuff.  ;-)

I guess my buddy and I either have to admit we're getting older than we thought.......or something has been seriously lost (IMHO) when a bowhunter, one who has hunted more than just a few years, don't even know what a Bear Razorhead is, even after my friend told him.

Sabre Glass arrows are a little different than some, IMO. My buddy shoots the F45 and G50 sizes. At about 545 grains for a 30 inch arrow, and less than that after he cuts them down to his draw, they are lighter than some of the old ones we've used and seem to be smoother and slightly smaller in diameter.

My buddy loves em!

I'm still stuck on woodies but think I have M.J. Log , Microflight, Herters and some unmarked fiberglass arrows around I still fling when I get the urge.

Hmmmm.....in all the years of hunting I just realized I never killed a deer with a fiberglass arrow! Ain't RIGHT! I think my first matched set of arrows from the hardware store was microflights as a kid.

Gonna have to "fix" that. *grin*

Ill get some of my own when I visit this weekend.
They were in the box for the G50s, half F45s, two different color fletching, thankfully.

This IS the first time we've seen the "Mac's" Sabre Glass on the side. Normally it just says Sabre Glass F45 or whatever size they are.

I think Mac's archery made up these shafts is all. Interestingly to me, too, was the 5.5 inch lower shield cut feathers on them. First we've see that too so, someone made em up from Sabre Glass shafts (unless Mac's made em? No clue who the MFG was).

At HALF the price of a set of custom woodies withOUT heads, HE WAS TICKLED and I was just as much finding them for him.

The best thing about owning a dog is that someone is happy when you come home.

Those look like some serious hunting arrows right there!  Just don't loose them in some green grass.
