Quote from: toddster on September 03, 2025, 10:56:54 AMWhy not just make your own with netting and burlap?

An old pair of hunting pants cut down and a fishing hoody make good bases for a lightweight guillie. The top just covers your head and shoulders and the bottom the outside of tiur thighs. Breaks up the important parts and doesn't have any danglers anywhere they don't need to be.

a good hunting bow will always be a quiet shooting bow,, everything else doesn't matter if the owner shoots good with it.

Quote from: Burnsie on September 05, 2025, 01:35:38 PMI'm glad it all worked out for you. I figured it must have just been an over sight on Steve's part as he pushes to clear his backlog.  Post pics when it arrives. I really want a NM as well, but will have to wait until he is taking orders again, or keep my eyes open on the classifieds. There have been a few out there lately, but they weren't in my weight range or were left handed.
Thanks bud. I've got the tracking so I'll post it when it gets here

On various podcasts, I've heard it said recently that "...the majority of trad shooters are shooting 3-under these days."

I've no reason to doubt that, nor to criticize it.  I am 54 and have shot split-finger since I was a kid.  I tried 3-under a couple times but not enough to really give it a go or let it start feeling natural.  I tend to be a loner, so I don't know what others are doing.

I think there's an angle here, where the folks who are doing the podcasts and getting onto social media are part of a more vocal sub-culture that also tends toward shooting 3-under.  In other words... the split-finger shooters could be the majority but if they're not at the shoots, and making videos and podcasts and social media posts, then they are a silent majority.  No big deal either way, but I tend to think this.

I think the Trophy Hunter would be about the bees knees because I am kind of partial to the backset laminated Hill Styles that are thin and deep.

Quote from: M60gunner on September 05, 2025, 11:53:36 AMI use wraps. I used to dip but for a couple of reasons including the cost of Bohning paints these days I stopped. I did spray carbons and woods but if it's to hot out the paint dries before it flows out. I buy wraps from One Stringer as well as cut my own. I also crest my own. I prep the aluminum and carbon shafts by wiping down with Acetone. I use a mouse pad to roll them on. I use Fletch Tite glue or Gorilla SG in blue cap bottle to fletch.
M60 - Are the arrows in your picture hand crested, or are those custom wraps? They look great!
