Converting Legacys to tuneable nocks?
« on: March 16, 2010, 09:42:00 AM »
I have some 2016 Legacy shafts with the tapered nock ends for glue on nocks.  Has anyone ever cut off the nock taper and installed a tuneable nock set up?  I have tried contacting Easton, but have gotten no response.

Nothing to it. You just need to order some 2016 uni bushings and the easton nocks will press right in.

Like said it is easy, just cut the taper off and glue in some uni-bushings and any of the push-in nocks with a .246 OD will work.I have done this to 2016 and 2018 Legacys,I like Easton 3D Super nocks. They fit my strings the best. You can also do this for 1916's,Easton has a X-bushing for them that will use an X-nock,the same nock used in Axis/MFX. I just cut off the taper and scuffed and cleaned the inside with alcohol.I used the same two-part epoxy I use for gluing inserts in my carbon arrows.Just don't use excessive epoxy so it won't block the nock from pressing in.

I have aluminums that I've shot for years and never glued the nock on, push on with a twist right where you want. NEVER had one come off less it was shot off or a very hard smack.

I know it sound scary....

Does any one have a good source for the uni-bushings? Seems they are getting hard to come by in some sizes like 2219. I have some of the old AO shafts I want to convert to uni-bushings for my son. Thanks, Tom

Bowhunters Superstore has uni-bushings. Click on the link below to the page that has them including the 2219 size. Once on the page, scroll on down near the bottom of the page for the 2219 super uni-bushings.

I always put the uni bushings on my legacy arrows - i just can't find a decent snap on knock.

Try the Beiter nocks.  K1 Archery carries them.

PICKNGRIN: I have a dozen XX75 Camo with factory Uni-Bushings I will trade for your legacies. They are new 2016s still in the plastic wrap. I prefer using glue on nocks.

As others have stated...it's very easy to do.

I just adjusted my cut-off saw for the raw shafts and cut off the tapered ends.  Once I had the Uni-Bushings and Super Nocks installed, I adjusted the saw for the OAL I wanted the shafts.

Does anyone know if any of the uni-bushing would work in the old Micro-flite 7, 8, or 9's?  I have 2 -3 dozen but no nock tapers for them.  Hadn't thought about the bushings . . .
