Bud B.

I want to make up some arrows like those of old, inspired in part by some that I have and in part by brianlocal3's "vintagy" looking arrows.

If you don't mind posting up some pics of the old Pearsons, Bears, etc. arrows, I sure would like to see what you have collected over the years. I like seeing the color combos and cresting from days past. Maybe seeing your arrows will help me get these few doz blank shafts I have into arrows that are ready to shoot.

Thank you.

Just some to get you started. I think our tastes have changed a bit over the years. Some of the old paint jobs were not that great. They were more mass produced and simple. But some were very well thought out and well designed. Of course it does depend on the decade too. I think some of the stuff coming out of the 70's, whether it is wallpaper or cars, just wasn't the best! haha

Here's some Bear X-200's from the late 1950's. These are made with Forgewood shafting.

Note the headshrinker aluminum inserts under the Bear Razorhead.

These are fairly old (still wrapped in the original wrapping), but maybe they are an example of what you are looking for...

Nice work with those Damon.
Those are classic colors in my opinion.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways-BOW in one hand-ARROWS in the other-Body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming-WOO HOO! WHAT A RIDE!

Damon that box or wooden case is really cool.

Thanks guys. The box and arrows were given to me years ago by an old bowhunter who's since passed on. He also gave me 5 recurves he'd made along with another box full of target/flight arrows and tabs, etc...all hand crafted. The boxes themselves are gone, but I still have all the other goodies.

Really digging all these arrows!

Great idea for a thread, Bud. I'll be watching this one for ideas.

Looking at the nice color combos I might need more shafts. Or, make sets of three  ;)

I see a lot of guys on here have Fred bear heads. I've looked through a a lot of trad broadheads and bears heads are not that great compared to some. Maybe Simmons sharks, hill, or others. Good luck guys.
