Tenbrook,

Those are some crazy lines on that bow!  Do you have a pic strung?  Very nice wood there too.

This is the only black glass bow I own but I think it looks good.
Onyx actionwood, light as a feather.

I love black glass bows. Just about anything goes great. I built one and called it a hornet. black glass and sage with maccassar flare. It looked awesome. That's about the strangest one I have done but love heavily figured walnut or koa with it and some red uniweft outlining the riser and for the power lam.

God bless, Steve

I have two bows with black glass.  One is my Dick Palmer longbow that has walnut for the riser.  The other is my Browning Cobra II.

Koa, Cocobolo, Kingwood, Rosewood, and several other darker woods go great with black glass. About half of my bows have black glass on them and darker color risers. Another wood that comes to mind is Osage. I didn't like it at first with the black glass but once it darkens up it really goes well with it.

Alot of choices, hard to go wrong.  You can see a 52" Kestrel bow on Dan Toelke's website that is Cocobolo riser and black glass limbs.  Beautiful.

If it's the same pic I'm thinking of, I owned that bow for a while.  :)

The contrasting of colors always look good maple or osage would make a nice looking bow.

Jeff,

Almost any redish and figured wood is stunning with black glass.  It was my goto combination for sometime on new customs.  Here are a few black glass bows and cocobolo I have ordered and sold...
