New Project. Carbons, ink and cresting

Sometime back there was a post about red crests- lots of pics, it was really good.

I saw one post(reddogge) where he stained the arrows red leaving the crest/fletch end natural.  I really loved the look but wondered if it could be done with carbons. . .

So-I experimented here and used India Ink.  I brushed it on with numerous strokes as it dried.  It dried transparent allowing the "grain" of the GT trad carbs to show through.  I then sealed it with a mist of Deft Clear Finish.

So far so good.  I do not know about long term wear- but man these things look good. I am going to experiment with more colors of the ink and glue bonding for fletching.

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.
