Now I'm not into the whole poetry thing, but it is required for class, this is a poem that I had to write for my senior english class, she said write about what you love in life, its titled Opening Morning

It is a cold october morning
There I sit in the cold deer stand
I feel the sun on my back warming
With longbow in hand
I do not care if I kill a deer
I'm just happy to be here

I got an A

Ian, poetry is a window to the Soul, a way of expressing inner feelings through words that have a rhythm that connect the sentences. Words in songs are poems put to music and as you know, music is the universal language of the soul

Your poem deserved an A. With a few short sentences you described the warming feeling of the sun on a cold October morning. It didn't matter if you killed a deer because you had your longbow in your hand and you were enjoying the experience.

Well done    :clapper:

Ian you don't need to 'be into' poetry to enjoy grand communication.
Poetry is only another way of expressing oneself.
Well stated and worth an A.
Check out a guy named Baxter Black. He does 'Cowboy Poetry'. Cowboys are some pretty ruff and tumble guys and they enjoy poetry. I wouldn't give up any of their friendships, because they're 'into' poetry.  :saywhat:
