Saw a few pics so far....just wondering who else will be spending sometime chasing bushytails with nothing but stick and string. Right now, I've got the Dremel whirring and am in the process of lopping the tips off a collection of old Bear, Muzzy, Magnus, and G5 heads...

i am well versed in muzzleloading for squirrels but am new to traditional archery. what type of points would you recommend, besides getting closer what other changes do you think i would need to make to my hunting technich.

Squirrels are notoriously tough. I've come to favor either old broadheads with the tips cut off (for added shock and the fact that they don't penetrate so much into trees), or the old pistol casing/bleeder blade combo...

Oh heck yeah.  Squirrel season = pre-season deer scouting with bonus meat available.

I finally got out for a few hours this morning on some local public land. I inhaled about 34 bug that flew into my mouth, bled all over a couple hundred acres of briars, lost six arrows, educated a few suirrels and had a blast.

Jeremy

I still have a bit before the season opens in Sept., but I love chasing tree rats!

I like ace hex heads, but the most effective head I've found is a big ol' 3 blade snuffer!  LOL!

I know I say this everytime I see that picture, but those are the fattest squirrels I've ever seen...

Yes sir, Ken!!!

Course, don't know if I'll need 'em. Hex heads backed by 620-grains don't usually allow the frogs to go anywhere...

Killy, you always come up with the best response. Of course I'll continue to fling arrows at squirrels, but it isn't often that I hit one.    :banghead:
