A plain generic handle on your bow?? Built a hybrid longbow(?) last year, never did shoot it really well, thought it was too radical to shoot well, but now I think it was the fancy thumbrest, fingergroove grip.
Been workin on a milder longbow for my youngest son, plain longbow grip. I shot it so well,I took mine to the shop tonite for 15 minutes and made the grip similar. To my surprise,I shot it a LOT better! Heres the original grip...

And heres the new generic grip that I don't have to think about when I shoot, just grab it and shoot....

Does anybody else shoot better with a smooth,no nonsense grip or is it just me???  :knothead:
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Yeah I like a plain grip too. Just like shaking hands with an old friend.  BTW very nice looking bow!

I won't be able to see the pics until I get home tonight, but the following pics show what I like in a longbow grip:

I like a small, low wrist grip as well.  Shoot better for me.

I like a "recurve style" grip and shoot a medium grip best, but find any kind of fingergrooves or thumbrest obtrusive.  I can never get comfortable with them and it distracts me.  The concept of having a molded grip sounds nice but in practice it is anti-productive for me.

I shoot best with a locator grip, longbow style. I recently got a 7 Lakes with a straight grip, so I modified it to my liking. Shoots a lot better now, at least with me shooting it.

I like what you did you your grip. It is amazing how just a simple modification can make all the difference in how it shoots for ya.

That pic of your stand site looks like a fine place to spend some time hunt'n, think'n, or just pass'n time!

Sounds like I'm not alone! All the extra stuff is too much for my feeble brain to worry about,I guess!

Bill,thats a good idea!!

Chris, that stand is the best view, but the worst for close deer encounters we've got! It probably won't be there this year....
Stay sharp, Kenny.
