Thanks for accepting me into the Cyber camp. I appreciate it. I'm from Madison wisconsin. Mostly gun hunting history but we did shoot a lot of recurve bows(usually poorly) into haystacks back in the '70s when I was a kid. I even had a Fred Bear LP album where he talked about grizzly hunting out west. I can't pull a bow currently because of a shoulder injury. I came across (and bought) these three Dickie Roberts fireball bows. When my shoulder recovers I would like to shoot these bows. I was able to research them to some degree but I wondered if you guys might have any comments. I understand Dickie Roberts was a competitive Archer and started an archery factory in the '70s that eventually burned down. So I'm guessing these might not have been produced for a very long period of 20260322_103253.jpg
time. They seem to be in very good shape. The craftsmanship of the wood is just beautiful. Anyhow thanks for the Cyber camp and any info would be appreciated.

Fireballs were state-of-the-art target bows back in the day, superb bows.

All that you have sport both side sight bar extension brackets, stabilizer bushings, and "Berger" pressure buttons.  The middle bow looks like it also has a front Reynolds 6-Gold sight extension.  The bow on the right has a pair of vibration damper weights.

What are all their the listed bow lengths and draw weights?

Great and beautiful nostalgic bows in what appear to be mint condition!

I'd only use polyester bowstrings (B55) with these glass/wood bows, wouldn't trust them with the lower stretch HMPE bowstring fiber.

Rob,
Thanks very much for all of that information. I appreciate your expertise.
The bow that has the stabilizing weights is labeled...
FS-18-70
68" 31#

The bowl that has the darker color
is labeled...
FL-66-71
64" 28# 026?  (A little difficult to make that one out)

The third bow says..
FL-237-70
68"-36#.

Thanks for the tip on the bow strings.

I think the "-70" and "-71" suffix of their serial numbers might be the build year.  The preceding number might be the day of the year.

Again, fabulous "olde tyme" recurve target bows ... lotta good history there.
