What's a fellow need to shape g-10 for risers? I'm guessing carbide tipped saw blades and tools. I use it for limb tips but never in big blocks. Cutting site windows and shelves is what I'm concerned about.

I think Great Plains uses diamond saw blades. Shaping can be done with regular sanding sleeves. Zirc prolly better.

I've had the tips break off of the carbide tipped blades on fiberglass.
I believe that Great Plains use a Lenox Master-Grit or something similar, i think will try one the next time I cut any G10.
caught between:If it ain't broke, don't fix it and can't leave well enough alone.

I use a bi-metal blade on a metal cutting band saw. It has been cutting it good.
Very very slow speed
I did try a radial arm saw with a carbide blade. It cut it but filled the shop with a lot of smoke

I use a carbide tipped bandsaw to rough shape a riser and cut out sight windows with a G-10 I beam. Its a 4 TPI.  Its easily cut on a table saw with a sharp carbide tipped blade, but it trashes the blade pretty quickly.

It sands and mills with high speed router bits beautifully. i use it for ILF risers on the back and limb pads. but i only purchase 1/2" . 3/8", and 1/4" material and laminate it with epoxy where needed.   .02 cents.
