After missing hunting season last fall because of rotator cuff surgery I was ready to hunt again. My rehab Dr. allowed me to start shooting in December and now I was shooting 52# but felt more comfortable with 45#. Then I had my second cataract surgery just before turkey season opened and my eye DR. told I couldn't shoot for a week. So one week later I was sitting in my blind an hour and a half before sun rise with a jake and 2 hens out for decoys. Gobbles started a half hour later so I gave some tree yelps and getting responses I patiently started waiting. The birds started flying down and going every direction except towards me, I was bummed but heard more bords behind me. Pretty soon I saw 3 hens and 4 Gobblers coming in from my left, the hens all swerved around the decoys but the Gobblers came in and strutted just outside the jake. When it looked like they were going to leave I picked the closet one and shot. I knew right away the shot was high and all I got were feathers! They all left when that arrow went by them so I put another arrow on and attached my tradtracker string. About 10 minutes went by and I heard a cluck off to my right and soon 2 jakes were standing right next to my jake pushing him around. I debated a couple minutes and then picked a spot on the closet one and watched my arrow go right into that spot. He ran about thirty yards and dropped! The tradtracker worked perfectly but I didn't need it this time. My setup was a Bear T/D Mag A with #2 limbs 45# at my draw and a snuffer broad head.
