Public Land to Be Sold

It appears likely that selling public land may get removed from the current budget bill in the Senate. Senator Mike Lee of Utah seems determined not to let it die. Senator Lee has stated that language to open BLM (Bureau of Land Managment) lands for sale will be included in the next version of the bill. 500,000 responses have been received by Congress from outdoor groups in opposition to selling public lands. We need to keep the pressure on as a group. I suspect that this is only the beginning of our elected officials attempting to take "our" lands from us. Stay vigilant.

James, with respect this is not the beginning. In 2017, Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz, Utah introduced a bill to sell 3.3 million acres of public land! The vote was party line but there was enough of a public outcry that he pulled the bill the next month and did not seek re-election. If the name sounds familiar, he became and remains a commentator/contributor on Fox News.

Trying to stay neutral but i believe they have sold farm land to foreign countries already. Namely China. I don't care if Republican or Democratic they will do most anything for money. Here in Wisconsin "they" jammed a much more superior weapon into the archery season based on money gain and hiding behind " it puts kids and women into the sport of hunting" Nope...

With no Federal Approval required for the sale of farmland to foreign interests, it's not the same as what's happening with the proposed sale of public lands. Who "they" were trying to sell public lands in 2017 is easy to check, it was Republicans and the legislation currently introduced is by a member of the same Republican party. This is a fact not my opinion and I am optimistic that a handful of Republican Senators from western states will vote with all the Democrats and this bill will fail.

Ya'll sound like a bunch of crying liberals on here. If it weren't for Republicans you wouldn't be allowed to own guns or probably bows either. Libs and PETA would have your hunting erased too so dont forget who protects your rights. Im not for the government or the sale of public land but theres no way this would fly in any state.
