Best bandsaw blade for glue line ripping? Do they exist?

Yup…..Many many times…. I had some pretty cool swing jigs that I cut radius footings on my bandsaw with a good sharp blade, and then hand fit them by sanding……

It’s time consuming getting everything to fit tight before gluing them together. You do NOT want to force the footing and accent strips together using clamps… everything needs to fit very precise with very little pressure or you are looking at problems down the road.

I even did hand fit S shaped footings when I first go started. But I spent hours sanding them, and wasn’t real happy with some of the glue lines…. But… it can be done…

Once you have used a pattern sander with a good jig set up, you’ll never go back to using a band saw and fitting by hand again. You use the band saw to rough it out, then put it in the footing jig…. Those fit together with no hand sanding at all. Takes the fight right out of it.     Kirk
