OK, I'll help ya out. (This might help me out too)

Ya like lighter colors or darker ones limbs? lighter

Darker/ lighter riser? darker

Colored glass or clear? Clear if it's over lighter limbs so any flaws in the the glass are less apparent.  But I have grown very fond of colored glass.

Boo or hickory back? boo

Selfbow? yup

I like clear glass and really have no preference on woods, I like them all. I'm sure I'd like anything Kenny made.

I kinda like the shortest bow that is comfortable at my draw length. Anyone else feel the same or do some of you like longer bows?

it will be hard for yours to ever truly stack up.
I can build bows that "stack up" all day long!   :biglaugh:

Think I posted this before but here it is again in the progress thread.  This is the form design for the swap bow.  Pretty dang simple back set Hill style.  I'm wanting this to be as close to classic Hill as possible so I'm open to suggestions all around.

Yeah, its hard to give preferences. I've built a lot of bows and as far as glass goes, I would say I'm always drawn to flat cut wood grain. that being said, one of my favorite all time combos is gray riser and black glass. I built a recurve for my brother in law high school graduation. Gray and black glass backed with snake skin. If would have been a lefty, I might have kept it   :)   Still working on trying to get a decent BBO bow and I love selfbows. I've built mainly hickory bows but I'm cracking into the world of locust. Had one I thought passed but it cracked at a slight knot in the limb. that was a bummer. all that being said, its also hard to beat a good ol hill longbow. what can I say? I like them all.

As for me, I really like contrast. I like to combine different woods that are very different in color or grain but compliment each other.

Like black palm paired with maple. The palm is dark with a very unique and striking grain. Maple is very uniform in grain and color and they work well together.

I can’t get my phone to copy very well, so I’ll type it up briefly.

Preferences:
Light limbs
Dark riser
Clear glass (I love seeing the cores character)
Boo (because looks, but no real pefeeremce)
Love selfbows

I hope that works without fully retyping the questions.

Colors I like on a bow: Yellows and Browns
I don't have a preference between dark and light colors.
I like the natural color of wood in all of it's forms.

If I get glass I would rather clear.
selfbow: sure
Life is too short to use marginal bow wood

Ya like lighter colors or darker ones limbs? Darker is my preference, but I still like light!

Darker/ lighter riser? I am a big fan of contrasting grain, light or dark.  Can be applied to limbs as well.

Colored glass or clear? Clear is awesome so the core or veneer can shine through, but I have seen some good looking black glass/zebra riser combos.

Boo or hickory back? Boo.

Selfbow? Selfbow, tri-lam, glass bow... all the bows!

Also I left out a critical piece of info on my signup post, my draw length is 30".  I'm pretty stoked about this trade, and the decisions are keeping me up as well!  A bit nervous as well, as this will be my 6th bow.  Hope I can measure up!

I am not gonna be particular...  Just make me the best bow that you know how make...

I got a confession to make...  When Canopy messaged me for info... I said, "This may sound selfish but could you you hook me up with an experienced Bowyer"...  Reason being I have not shot a lot of other bows and wanna see whats out there and take notes and compare my bow to theirs... I could care less about gaining a bow, I got about fifteen laying around... I am in it to learn and have some fun with this... AS far as giving out a bow I am gonna try hard and make the best damn bow I can make for the Receiver...

Just make my bow Right handed, between 39 and 43lbs and I shoot three under...  A little over or under the weight will be fine if you miss your mark... Don't stress it...  But if it is under, it better be fast...  I don't want any arrows bouncing off the hay bales...    :)   :)

I passed your message to the dice, but they just laughed at me. We'll see how it shakes out. Post your progress often here and you'll learn a lot. There's a few guys that shoot lightweight pink bows who love to tell you what you're doing right and especially what you're doing wrong...

not really sure what your asking. I've built some bows with myrtle and have some nice wood left. I treat it like curly maple since what I have looks a lot like curly maple but a little darker and some streaking.
