Glued up my trade bow lastnight and had some time to work on it tonight. Got the limbs shaped out and riser started. I've got some free time tomorrow to get more done. Its cedar veneers with a zircote riser with red heart stripe though it.

Great work guys!

Great looking bow all the way around DVS.

Great looking bows to everybody.  Amazing looking work on every single one I've seen in this swap

KellyG

Man a lot of bows ready to go. Just let me know when they go out. Heck on top of those I got a pm that another one is ready to ship also.

I got a lot of scrapes done on mine today. It should be on the short string tomorrow.

KellyG

Not as pretty as some on here but I got it on the short sting this morning at about a 4" brace and pulling back to about 35# @ 18".

I need to work on everything past the fades but not to bad yet.

Here it is pulling about 17" though

A bit warm here today, was on call all weekend and worked 20 hours of OT. If I would have known it was gonna get this hot.

I would have set these out this morning and saved some heat time last night.

KellyG

Well I got mine pulling about 35# @ 20". I have not worked on it much today but the it is bending more and more. I just hope I can get it to 28" and about 55#.

Here is how the string is tracking.

Here it is braced.

I am sure I will have it shooting by this weekend.

Pat B

Stay away from those fades for now, Kelly. She's looking good so far! d;^)

Will do Pat. I hide that area in my vice so I don't even get tempted.

re: canopyboy
the wood is mulberry and backed with beech on the sides and in center white stripe is chestnut.
i have epoxied them and cut 2mm lams out of it.
and this will be the only backing i am going to use.

re: wood carver 2
beech and hornbeam are the same wood. not identical but same.
i have made some with hornbeam and used them for a long time. (it has broken now but served well).
in this i just wanted to use red!

thanks.

best.
these are not the droids you are looking for.

Okay - I am too dense to post pics.  I have an album in Photobucket and I want to show ScottM's awesome red oak bow but I need help.

I think I got it whipped - the mods may want to kick out the previous posts...

Me and the bow ScottM sent me.  Yes, I am smiling.

Full draw and making the neighbors nervous.

It is a red oak board bow, 66" and 50# at 28.  Absolutely beautiful.  The tips are sweet.  i wish I could do tips like this.  Mine are more like Jimmy Durante's nose.

Thanks Scott.  I love it.
