hi Kip, how do ya do the circle/ elipse thingie??

coaster500

Wayne just save the picture to your desk top. Then right click on the saved image and find "open with" in the menu. The menu will give you choices one of them will be your "Paint program" if you have it? Open your image with paint. Once the paint program is opened with your image you can do anything you want.

To do the above picture first I click the "line image" (all the choice are in the menu on the left side of the paint program), then the thickness choice, Once I've done that I click the "ellipse image" and Bingo. You will have to play with your aiming skill to get the ellipse to line up but that's pretty easy.

Once I have the picture the way I want I save it, then load it on Photobucket.

It sound complicated but actually takes me about a minute or so....  Good luck      :)

Got my TG tradebow in the works for *********, and i'm tryna think ahead as to what profile i want to go with.  I have a little of the last ring to chase, then hopefully i'll be moving pretty quickly on profiling and straightening.

Here are two pics of where she is now, one  slightly offset from the other, tryna decide where i wanna center it:

the grid markings are 2"x2".  At first i was thinking maybe a 5 curve like some others have done recently, but then i'm thinking maybe just take out that deflex on the right and make the right match the left.

Is 5-6" of straightlimbed backset too much?   Haven't done any with backset out of the handle like that, I usually induce a more gentle curve to reflex the limbs.  Oh, and she lines up tip to tip almost board straight, which is a relief.

If you have any example of one that had a lot of backset from the handle, I'd love to see it!

Thanks for any input    :D

LOL, thanks Coaster.

Coster that circle eclipse thing is pretty cool.  Really shows where the tiller might be off or in AZ_Shooters case shows where it is spot on.

Pretty good explainin', Kip. But heck, I can't even post to photobucket.

AZ, looking good.

K-Hat, be careful with those kinked areas, I've had several crack when trying to straighten them.  Osage seems to handle it better than some of the other woods I've tried.  Do it in several heating sessions.

Here's the pics of the tips on my trade bow.  Tips are Bolivian Rosewood, bow is Hackberry.  I think the Rosewood will really pop when I get it polished and finished......Dan

Sorry for the poor picture quality, I need a new camera.

looking good all. AZ you are making a great looking bow. I only hope my tiller is as close as yours. I picked up a heat gun tonight so I should be heating up a limb.
