Yep, that's purty far, David.

I have the first coat of tru-oil on my bow for *****. I also have three neighbors wanting this bow! It looks nice and shoots well. I'll get some pics after the tru-oil dries.

KellyG

Not ready to put it on yet but here is what I am thinking.

What do yall think? That skin came off a 54" snake and I lost about 6" and it stretched to almost the same length.

I may still find a gar to skin yet and put on it.

vanillabear?

Looks good, Kelly. I made a bow from one of those last year that was road kill. The pattern will probably come out a little more once the scales are off and finish is on it.

Finally got some free time to work on bow. Here's a few teaser pics from this weekend. Please bear with me, this is my first attempt at a take-down recurve and only my second glass bow. Sure hope ********** likes it. Enjoy!

I worked on my plan a the last few days and it will make weight. I have been shooting it this weekend and made what i hope to be the last adjustments with sand paper and have it down to Händel with 220. 45@28 which is the bottom of the allowance, but in there. I will get it dressed up and post pics this week. And then off to the mail!

Nice lookin' bow, Perry. It appears "well balanced". LOL

David Flanrey

Kelly, that chicken snake skin will look really good.  You makin a osage bow?  I haven't seen all your post.

Perry, that take down looks great!  That is my next project also.  What are the specs?

KellyG

David yep if all goes to as planned it will be a skinned backed osage.

David Flanrey

yea, I went back and looked.  You might could even split that skin for a narrow bow and get more use out of it.  Looks pretty wide.

Trux Turning

Nice Perry!! That will make someone happy.

KellyG

David that was the head end so it is plus I still have the belly skin on it also.

KellyG

hmmm I don't get on for a day and this thing comes to a screeching stop. I hope it is because Yall are out work on your bows.

Someone owes us some PICs I got word that a bow was received to day.
That puts us at 22 bows received and 69 folks waiting. So we are 25% complete.

I have my bow bending Just bit more and I will have it on the short string at a low brace.
